Anne Cilissen

Anne Cilissen is a self-trained sound technician with over 20 years of experience in various settings. Her journey into the world of sound and technology was fueled by a deep love for music and a keen interest in technology.

Born and raised in Belgium, Anne’s passion for music was evident from a young age. She studied solfege at the Academy of Music in Ixelles, Belgium, laying a strong foundation for her musical journey.

In 1995, Anne made a significant life change by moving to Canada. This move opened new opportunities and allowed her to further explore her interests in media and sound technology. Despite her background in Chemical Industrial Engineering, Anne found herself increasingly drawn to computer science. She pursued a diploma in programming, equipping herself with the skills needed to navigate the evolving landscape of sound and media technology.

Anne has worked as an assistant webmaster for a non-profit organization and as a freelance programmer, developing several programs and websites. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, playing computer games, and learning new skills such as electronics and languages. Additionally, Anne is an amateur flute player and soprano singer. She sang with Valley Festival Singers under the direction of Joel Tranquilla.
